creativoices.org The VoiceMaster and CreatiVoices: How One Visionary Revolutionized Voice Acting, Dubbing, Broadcasting—and Is Democratizing the Future with AI In the bustling media landscape of the Philippines, few names command as much respect as Pocholo “The VoiceMaster” De Leon Gonzales. With over 30 years of experience, Gonzales has not only been the voice behind thousands of iconic performances but has built an entire industry from the ground up. Through his company CreatiVoices Productions (now evolving into CreatiVoices AI), he has professionalized voice acting, elevated dubbing standards, transformed broadcasting opportunities, and—most crucially—embraced artificial intelligence as an ally rather than a threat. As the self-proclaimed “AI VoiceMaster” and author of the forthcoming book I Am AI – The Story of Voices and AI , Gonzales stands as a true visionary: a pioneer who has democratized access to voice-based careers and is positioning the Philippines as a global hub for...

Beyond the Microphone: The Lessons That Shaped a Generation of Voice Artists

Image
In 2024, during a talk with OJT trainees, Pocholo Gonzales better known as the “Voice Master” did not begin with vocal techniques or microphone tips. Instead, he began with a question. “What do you want to learn? What do you want to do?” It was a challenge more than a lecture. For Gonzales, the biggest mistake aspiring voice artists make is not a lack of talent it’s a lack of direction. Many enter the industry copying styles, mimicking voices, or chasing trends. But as he reminded the trainees, imitation does not build identity. Branding, clarity, and purpose do. He emphasized that the real world operates differently from the classroom. Graduation does not guarantee success. Opportunities do not adjust to uncertainty. Those who thrive are the ones who are definite about what they want and willing to work for it. One of the strongest lessons he shared that day was about discomfort. “You will only be good at the things that are not comfortable,” he told them. Growth, he explained, happen...

Building Voices, Building Leaders: The Story Behind Creative Voices’ Impact

Image
Meeting Pocholo Gonzales, widely known as the “Voice Master” at a college organization event was not initially life-changing. At that time, the young attendee sat quietly in the audience, far from being the outspoken “bibo” type. Voice acting was not yet part of his plans. That changed after attending a Creative Voices seminar, where professional voice artists demonstrated the craft up close. The energy inside the room was electric. Watching voice-overs and dubbing performed live left a strong impression, turning curiosity into genuine fascination. What began as interest slowly evolved into a serious pursuit of voice artistry. In 2017, he enrolled in the Certified Voice Artist Program. However, professional responsibilities and graduate studies eventually pulled him away from the craft. Academic struggles followed, and during that period, he felt he had lost the passion that once inspired him. Months later, Creative Voices resurfaced on his social media feed. This time, he decided to r...

Long before she ever stood in front of a crowd, Ada was already immersed in learning. She would read extensively, absorb information endlessly, and explore ideas deeply often without knowing where those ideas would eventually lead her. But behind that love for knowledge was a question that consistently echoed in her mind: “How can I teach this?” For Ada, learning was never just about personal growth. It was about sharing. Like many aspiring voice artists, she grew up watching cartoons such as Sarah and Sedi, never imagining that one day she would be stepping inside a recording booth herself. Inside the booth, Khrishtel faced the reality of dubbing for the first time. There was no practice, no rehearsal only a script and a running scene that required her to deliver lines instantly. Back then, dubbing was done through block recording, meaning actors had to perform together in real time. Being surrounded by season...

Pinky Rebucas: The Art and Discipline of Dubbing

Image
Pinky Rebucas demonstrates that dubbing is more than repetition it is the art of turning words into emotion, discipline into performance, and characters into life For Pinky Rebucas, dubbing is not just about speaking lines it is about embodying characters, mastering rhythm, and delivering emotion with precision. The repetitive drills of “Hi, hi, hi” may seem simple to outsiders, but for a dubber, they are essential exercises. Each repetition sharpens timing, vocal clarity, and projection, preparing the artist for the demanding world of synchronized performance.   Dubbing requires a unique blend of patience and artistry. Unlike traditional voiceover, which often allows freedom in pacing, dubbing demands exact synchronization with visuals. Every syllable must match the lip movements of the character on screen, and every emotion must feel authentic. Pinky’s practice sessions reflect this discipline—repetition builds muscle memory, while dramatic lines test emotional range....

Gratitude in the Journey of Voice Artistry

Gratitude is the heartbeat of voice artistry every ‘thank you’ echoes the passion and community behind the craft In the fast-paced and often challenging world of voice artistry, sometimes the most powerful words are the simplest: “Thank you very much.” This short but meaningful phrase reflects the humility and gratitude that sustain many Filipino voice artists throughout their journeys.   Behind every successful dubber, radio jock, or voiceover talent lies countless hours of practice, rejection, and perseverance. Yet, what keeps the community strong is the spirit of appreciation for mentors, for opportunities, and for the audiences who listen and support. Gratitude becomes the anchor that balances ambition with humility.   For aspiring voice artists, remembering to say “thank you” is more than courtesy it’s a mindset. It acknowledges the people who opened doors, the directors who gave guidance, and the peers who offered encouragement. In an industry where comp...
