Pocholo Gonzales Pushes to Bring Rizal’s Ideals Closer to the Youth

 

Behind the project is Pocholo de Leon Gonzales, widely known as the “Voice Master” of the Philippines,” who continues to advocate for innovative ways of educating and inspiring Filipinos through media and storytelling.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Gonzales emphasized the importance of reconnecting the younger generation with the life and teachings of Dr. Jose Rizal, the Philippines’ national hero. According to him, Rizal’s ideals remain highly relevant in addressing many of the challenges that the country faces today.

Gonzales noted that introducing Rizal’s philosophy to young Filipinos is particularly important amid contemporary issues confronting the nation, including widespread corruption and social inequality. By revisiting Rizal’s writings and principles, he believes the youth can gain a deeper understanding of patriotism, integrity, and civic responsibility.

Through projects that integrate storytelling, education, and creative media, Gonzales aims to make Rizal’s legacy more accessible and engaging for modern audiences. Rather than presenting history as distant or purely academic, he seeks to highlight how Rizal’s message continues to resonate with present-day social realities.

For Gonzales, preserving and promoting Rizal’s teachings is not merely about remembering the past. It is also about encouraging young Filipinos to reflect on their role in shaping the nation’s future and inspiring them to uphold the values that Rizal fought for.

As the country continues to navigate complex political and social issues, Gonzales believes that Rizal’s ideals can serve as a powerful guide for the next generation of Filipinos.
