From the vibrant city of Lapu-Lapu, Champagne Thea Cabido shines as one of the promising voices in the Philippine dubbing and voiceover industry. Known as the “Sparkling Voice” of CBAP Batch 5, Champagne balances her life as a graduating Communication student, a student leader, and a certified voice artist.  

Her journey into voice artistry is rooted in passion and resourcefulness. Despite limited resources, Champagne built her own home recording setup—proof that dedication matters more than expensive equipment. With just a laptop, a USB condenser microphone, a DIY noise-cancelling box made from old speaker baffles, and free editing software like Audacity, she was able to produce professional-quality recordings.  

Champagne emphasizes that aspiring voice artists don’t need to wait for perfect conditions to start. “You never know, you have the talent if you never try,” she shares. Her editing process is simple yet effective: noise reduction, compression, filter curve, and normalization. These steps, learned through online tutorials, show that persistence and self-learning can go a long way.  

Beyond the technical side, Champagne offers practical advice for performance:  

- Open your mouth widely to make words clearer and delivery sharper.  
- Remove self-doubt because hesitation reflects in your voice.  
- Own the words—don’t just read lines, become the character.  

Her story is a reminder that voice artistry is not just about equipment or technique, but about confidence, creativity, and authenticity. As she continues to grow in the industry, Champagne inspires others to pursue their dreams, proving that even with a simple setup, one can sparkle in the world of voice acting.

Kathleen Sone: From Scholarship to Voice Over Flowers
