CreatiVoices recently welcomed a meaningful visit from Jessie Lasaten, co-creator of the acclaimed animated film Dayo: Sa Mundo ng Elementalia. His presence at the studio became an inspiring moment for aspiring voice artists and content creators, as he shared his experiences in dubbing, animation, and digital content production. More than a studio visit, it was an exchange of ideas rooted in passion for storytelling and the growing role of Filipino voices in the global media landscape. During the discussion, Lasaten emphasized that dubbing goes beyond simply replacing voices—it is about conveying emotion, movement, and authenticity while respecting the story’s original intent. He shared insights from years of translating and dubbing animated content for online platforms, highlighting how digital spaces such as YouTube and streaming services have opened new opportunities for Filipino voice talents who previously had limited access to the industry.

Lasaten also spoke about the future of dubbing in the Philippines, stressing the importance of adapting to digital distribution. He discussed ideas on releasing animated content episodically, gauging audience engagement, and eventually pitching projects to major streaming platforms like Netflix and Disney+. According to him, digital platforms offer creators more control, wider reach, and fairer collaboration models that allow voice artists to benefit beyond one-time compensation. Throughout his visit, Lasaten encouraged CreatiVoices and its VoiceOverflowers to continue honing their craft, collaborating with one another, and believing in the strength of local talent. He highlighted that success in the dubbing industry is not measured by profit alone, but by meaningful collaboration, innovation, and the commitment to elevate Filipino stories and voices.

Jessie Lasaten’s visit left a lasting impression on the CreatiVoices community, especially as it coincided with a milestone celebration for the studio.
